Hi Girls, sorry I couldn't get back to computer the grandchildren took over.
Thank you for all the work you have done for me. And yes I did find William Crossfield and his children all in the work house in york on the 1911 census but I never found Martha Emma Simpson/Crossfield. I was looking for a death for her which I haven't found under either the name Simpson or Crossfield. She had another daughter in 1906 so she couldn't have died in 1902. I assume she must be living with someone else under a different name as she isn't on the 1911 census.

There is a Herbert Crossfield living in Southport, Lancashire in 1911, son of Arthur and Emily.

It's West Derby which is Liverpool area and quite a long way from York, but there's this marriage whicch could be Herbert and it's very close to West Derby if they did in fact move there.

Is it too cheeky to ask you to find a death for Martha e Simpson, or crossfield, i couldn't find a marriage for her and William, I know William Crossfield was married before.
I found one Death in Derby, but I don't know how far that is from Yorks?

You need the birth cert for mmn because there seem to be a few marriages for John Simpson in the area.

can anyone please help me find Martha Emma Simpson born 1871 Halifax. She appears on the 1871 census with her father John born 1822 Halifax and Her mother Elizabeth born 1845 Halifax, but then the family seem to disappear. Martha Emma Simpson reappears on the 1901 census living with William Henry Crossfield as his wife. Could't find a marriage.
