Find Ancestors

Would like to hear from any descendants of John (b.circa 1782 Carlisle, Cumberland) & Mary Birch (nee Forbes) b.29 May 1792 in Bahamas). Three of their daughters were born in Sydney Australia.
John was Captain and paymaster with the 73rd Highlanders.
Mary Arabella Forbes was my 3rd great grandmother.

Yes, but when they left Australia it has been hard to follow. First they went to Ceylon...then back to England...have found John Birch's death info and his wife but nothing of the children.... friend has also located John Birch's parents and extended families.....we know:
a) dau: Henrietta Birch m. James Conan Bell 1 Jan 1829 at St. Mary's Carlisle Cumberland England. We know both their death dates. But no record of children so far.
b) dau: Eliza Birch was only 8yrs old when she died in 1818 in Scotland, she was born in Australia
c) dau: Mary Arabella Birch m. John Edward White of which we have most of their family history.
d)dau: Ellen Augusta Birch b.01 Dec 1813 Sydney Australia d. 1894 Paddington England, m. John Hill but no record of their marriage or any children or of John Hill's birth or death info.
e)dau: Emmeline Birch b.18 Feb 1815 in Ceylon.d.09 Oct 1864 inEdinburgh Scotland. she married James Duncan15 Aug 1839 at Tibbermore Perth Scotland, they had 7 dau. and 1 son named Thomas Duncan. No birth or death info on James Duncan or their children.
f) son:William Henry Forbes Birch b.12 Mar 1818 at Blackheath Kent England d; 15 Mar 1886 at Lark Hall Penrith Cumberland England no spouse recorded but a dau.Emmeline Anderson Birch b. c.1860. This is a mystery as not sure where Emmeline Anderson comes from, sounds like a cousin????? maybe she was illegitimate?
g) dau: Angela Birch, have info on her. then finally:
h) son:John Forbes Birch b. 19 Dec. 1822 no record of place; d. 1847 Mexico. ....no record of spouse or family

If anyone can fill in any gaps would be appreciated.

Thank you Michael Devaney for your help on the children. Can you find out anything about John Duncan i.e. when/where he died in England? I assume he may have been born in Ceylon.

Re Ellen Augusta Birch - married or unmarried???
My great grandfather Algernon Warren White stated that she was unmarried, but somehow I have a John Hill in as a spouse, but maybe I have made a mistake there, as I have no source for it. I tend to lean on the fact that she was unmarried.

Her death was certainly registered in her maiden surname.
