Have checked the 1911 census but can't find them in that at all. Would anyone know why there is no 'Carrickfergus Rural' in the 1911 census and why the only division in Carrickfergus listed is the 'Middle Division'? Is the 1911 census incomplete or does the North East Division of Carrickfergus no longer exist in 1911? Thanks again! Kirsten

Mary (wife) is 19 years younger so may be a 2nd marriage...couldn't be Johns mother... Residents of a house 132 in Middle Division (Carrickfergus Rural, Antrim) McAlister James 73 Male Head of Family Presbyterian Co Antrim General Labourer Read and rite - Married - McAlister Mary 54 Female Wife Presbyterian

Member Since: July 2004 Posts: 5 047 Send Message	Kirsten....Have checked throught the 1901 Census and find that on the same street and next door to the John and Sarah (listed yesterday) is an Agnes White aged 76 living with her daughter Agnes "Beggs" ...she may be Sarah's mother...there are also Whites living at 67/82 and other No's in the Street...however there are also Whites that married into the Stewarts and have the same Christian names..some job sorting those relationships out....!!! The McAlisters also appear to have lived around the same area... You need to check the 1901 Census.

Member Since: September 2009 Posts: 6 Send Message	Hi everyone! I'm trying to find information about my ancestors from Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim Northern Ireland. I know that my greag-grandfather William McAllister was born there in c. 1886 to John McAlister and Sarah White. I'm having a hell of a time trying to trace them so if anyone has any information I would be really grateful if you would share it with me. Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to where I should search online for them I'd really appreciate it too. Many thanks, Kirsten
