Thanks Ginny,
I have meetings this afternoon so need to do "the work thing" will look at all this when home this evening...
Oh, one other thing, if this is the same Harvey that went to NY.... did he travel alone ???

Update.... home now, checked out the family... and yes I do have all that info in my tree.

The only thing that bugs me is Why (if it is him on the ship) did he travel to NY and then return just 2 years or so later, and did he travel alone.... is there any mention of his wife Sarah Jane on the Ships list ???

Thanks again
Kev

Keven Report 5 Aug 2010 12:55

Hi Ginny,
Harvey George Wykes was my Gt Gt Grandfather, born 1843/4 in Nuneaton, Bapt 28/07/1844.
He was born out of wedlock to Maria Wykes (b1824)
I only have Census retuns for 1851 & 1861 and they place him in Nuneaton, Married to Sarah Jane Sands on the 31/05/1866 (his occupation at this time was a school teacher).
They had a daughter Annie Lilian Wykes 1887 (born in nuneaton) who was my Gt Grandmother who I knew very well as she lived to the ripe old age of 99.
Now my reckoning is if its him, he went to USA in 1884 but returned by 1887 ??
Thanks
Kev
