Hi Nicky

I think I need to go to back and have my eyes checked again hee hee I have now found one of the other sons Alfred Edward Boulton he died at 2 years old what a shame.

I wish some of my other relative are as easy to locate as these ones the Boulton's are on my mom's side but my dad side are a nightmare.
I am going to carry on with this side first and see how far I can get with the cert's etc and hopefully someone out there might have photo's of the family.

Thanks for all you help tonight it was really appreciated I am not that good on the computer but getting there now and learning by the day.

Good Luck with your research Paula

Don`t think that 1901 census occupation says Farmyard...think it says Tankyard/Tanneryard ?

all the others on that page are Tannery workers.

Hi Nicky

Yes I agree it must be the right marriage, it does get complicated when the family split but maybe he kept the 2 of the boys with him as this is all he could manage as there was 12 children in total.

Thanks so much for you help tonight.

Kind regards Paula

Think you may have been given wrong occupation for William in 1901....hes an assistant Forman at a Copperworks...........Tanner would probably be a good job description.

EDIT Sorry just realised that is the 1891 not 1901..

I see Marthas brother Harold, her sister Annies husband John and some of their children are all Tanners in 1911..... which all makes me think that is probably the correct marriage.

Hi Nicky

William was a farmyard labourer in 1901 but a copper maker in 1891 so he changed his jobs a bit I think you may have hit the jackpot with this one thanks so much

This is the only other Martha Boulton marriage in Lancashire in that time frame, but this one is Martha Grace

I`ve been trying to find them on the 1911 for elimination purposes but can`t find her as either Martha Foster or Martha Tidswell.

Hi Nicky,

Yes that's the correct birth for her she was living with her dad William Boulton and her mother Martha in 1891 and then in 1901 she is living with who I beleive to be her sister Annie Hall nee Boulton which someone has looked up for me on the 1911 census but Martha is not there with them and that was the only marriage I could find. to search for on the 1911.

Thanks again

Hi Nicky

Thanks I have a 1911 census from before where the relative was down as being born elsewhere so I wil send for the marriage cert to check as her father was deceased by 1911 and I can give the information to check if it may be the right one.

Thanks again

I did the search birth year 1889 +/- 5 years and only 4 came up living in Lancashire

Martha Cass x1
Martha Case x2
Martha Casey x 1

all were born in different parts of Lancs...but none in Widnes.
