Hi Maureen, thats fascinating, Phil's daughter always believed he was born in India but we cannot find a record. His father was H E May He was a solider the little time she knew him as he died when she was 5, this could solve the mystery . How do I look up these lists, ?

No the May Doogan marriage, I am trying to find out the birth place of the son on the wedding cert, his father Herbert Edward is the witness and his mother mary. The son Phil looks like he was in the army and it has a number on it for him, do you know how I can find his place of birth off that.? That would hopefully lead to his father Herbert E

Amanda Report 19 Aug 2010 13:23

Amanda Report 19 Aug 2010 12:50

Hi Maureen, not much I'm afraid I think his wife was Mary, I have him as a witness on his son's marriage in 1941 and it gives him as a retired draper, the wedding was in Chelmsford, but I don't know where his father was from . If that makes sense

MaureeninNY

MaureeninNY Report 19 Aug 2010 12:35
