Neil, you say you visited Greasley Cemetary earlier this year. Well you will have seen that Greasley is not so much a village, just a conglomeration of houses along a main road, with a Church. In fact, it is more of an enumeration area. It covers quite a span of villages, some up to 4/5 miles from the Church itself. So, what I am trying to say is, the family you are looking for, will have lived in one of the surrounding villages.
I see that Hill Top is mentioned in one of the records provided for you. This in itself is about 2/3 miles from the Churchyard.
Imagine what it would have been like all those years ago.

I visited this church earlier in this month,found three graves .the one with joseph and his wife giving the information posted.i am not able to help with the wifes maiden name.the second headstone of robert banner,died in 1792 aged 52.the third headstone was a john banner,killed in a pit accident on the 27/8 1929 he was only 23 at the time of his death,i was visiting this cemitary looking for the grave of my grandad.i need to tie these three graves to my tree if at all possible.i did not manage to find my granfathers grave,he was called john and his dob is 1848.

You need to come back to your thread Neil, and give further details. For instance, where did you get the births and deaths of Joseph and Elizabeth. What was her maiden name, and when were they married. How do you know they were buried in Greasley Church yard. etc.

I do realise this is a long shot,im seeking any info on the above .he was born in 1699 lived untill 1778,is burrted in greasley church yard with his wife elizabeth,she was born in 1700 and died in 1784.can any one give me their family history please
