CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 1 Oct 2010 14:13

It's possible they registered her as Mary Ann Elizabeth and then changed their mind about Elizabeth and used Lilian instead.

wow thats confusing the andrew being Mothers maiden name ? because ive found death entry for Lilian Elizabeth A Biggs 1985 jan Cornwall same dob 22/7 but 1894 not 1892 ???

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 1 Oct 2010 14:46

Yes, Andrew is the mothers maiden name.

I've had a look for Broadbridge/Andrew marriages from 1900 and can't see any and as the Broadbridge/Biggs marriage was registered in Hackney, as was the birth of Ivy Broadbridge, it looks fairly good that this is the same lady.

Gina

Gina Report 1 Oct 2010 14:54

wow I suppose its just a coincidence that the marriage i found had the same day and month of birth as Mary ann Elizabeth's just two years out ? thanks for all your usefull input i did think cornwall was unusual as all her family were around Hackney stepney mile end etc

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 1 Oct 2010 15:15

Ooh, I wonder if Arthur Biggs and Lilian were living together before marriage???

There is this 1911 - the ages pretty much match the ages on the marriage registration and the address on the 1911 - Hoxton - matches the parish for the marriage.

What do you think Gina?

The original says they have been married under one year - but could they be fibbing?

I can't see any other marriages between 1909 an1911 that could fit this couple - other than the one already posted.

Gina

Gina Report 1 Oct 2010 15:21

Yes deffinately Fibbing, I suppose first Husband Arthur could have died will look up possible death leaving her free to re marry

CherryBlossom

CherryBlossom Report 1 Oct 2010 15:27

Couldn't see one on Freebmd but he could have been killed in action overseas.

There are a couple of A Biggs listed on the Commonwealth War Graves site, two of which have the wrong father but there is another possible death in 1915.
