Find Ancestors

Hi I wonder if some one can help me to find a Leslie john Frederick kerr please?
I only have a few details, Ive been looking myself as I do have the platinum membership but am new to this so getting very confused with the whole thing!

Leslie john frederick kerr married my mum in 1971 (Joan heppenstall) that is correct.

I dont know his date of birth or place of birth but according to mums marriage cert he was 42 so his birth year would be 1929, there are no birth records for him ??
I do know his parents were from Hornsey in North london, his dad is called JOHN ALAN KERR (deceased)
the address on the marriage cert for leslie is 48 Clarenden road,N8. and JOHN ALAN is a former merchant seaman.

I have found a marriage to a teresa powell in 1982 and they had a child?
Called Leslie john frederick kerr born in 1960 apparently, im so confused!!! not sure if im reading it correctly, please can some help to confirm these details for me?
leslie snr was last seen in hornchurh area in the 1980's
I found a marriage in 1952 to a lilian v hill in greenwich, I have ordered the marriage cert to see if its the same leslie.

Is there anything else I can do to find him?

I also know he was in the RAF as a mechanic ,and did speedway racing, I have photos of him in egypt and iraq in 1943 - 1949 ish

I can't even find Birth marriage or death of his dad John Allen kerr.

There was a L J Kerr in phone book 1981 in Hornchurch but thats as far as I've got.

I wonder if Leslie was born before his parents married
