The Haggers have been a complete mystery to me, until I have received all the help here!! Always difficult to be sure of a positive identification when the same name crops up but I am very grateful for what I have been given. .

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 16 Oct 2010 15:18

The only problem is that we have no clue who the one buried in 1791 is. Same generation/person as the 1779 bap, or someone else??

Either way, he couldn't have married Mary Bamford

Katwin

Katwin Report 16 Oct 2010 15:14

Wow! First baptism most likely, as the last one would mean he married at 16! Sarah born in 1815, so burial not poss.

Thanks so much for that! You're a star!!!

Baptism?

Joseph Hagger
Baptism Date: 12 Dec 1779 (born 21 Nov)
Parish: St George, Bloomsbury
County: Middlesex
Borough: Camden
Parent(s): Thomas Hagger,
Elizabeth Hagger

But then there is this burial - no age given

Joseph Hagger
Burial Date: 2 Aug 1791
Parish: Christ Church
County: Surrey
Borough: Southwark

And another baptism for the same names.

Joseph Hagger
Baptism Date: 22 Nov 1795 (b 03 Oct)
Parish: St Luke, Old Street
County: Middlesex
Borough: Islington
Parent(s): Thomas Hagger,
Elizabeth Hagger

You pays your money and takes your choice....or dismiss them altogether :-0

Many thanks for looking +++DetEcTive+++
Perhaps she was an only child then, unless there were siblings born in a different county!

Sorry to be a pain, but was there a marriage between Joseph Hagger (possibly still a Coachman) and Mary?? around 1815 and possibly in Westminster borough??

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 16 Oct 2010 10:01

Nothing showed up Hagg?r father Jos* and Mary 1814 +/- 10.

Lots of other Hagger's stretching back to the early 1700s, but not them!

Many thanks for that information, Sylvia.
I found the same information on the FamilySearch "Mormon" site and I have followed them through on the Casey line to the present date..

Unfortunately, it was also too early to get much information on the actual register!! Sooo ..... no names of fathers!

They were married after Banns
Edward was a Bachelor
Sarah a Spinster

Thank you, Maureen!
This is looking quite possible - she was widowed in 1862 and had a very hard life from then on. I believe she returned to her own Parish with her children for poor relief, etc. and died in Kensington in 1897.
Kensington is a neighbouring borough of Westminster, so this is most likely correct!! She was my 2xgt-grandmother!
Most grateful for your help!

Thanks for that, Rambling Rose, I got the marriage from the Mormon site. Unfortunately a year too early for registration!
I think the Baptism is too early though.

Sorry for messing everyone about!! Could kick myself!

Katwin

Katwin Report 15 Oct 2010 21:47

So sorry Glitter Baby - you are right - and her maiden name was HAGGER - so Sarah Hagger born c1814 in Marylebone, Middx.
Casey was her married name and she was married to Edward Casey and died a widow in 1897 in Kensington.

Katwin

Katwin Report 15 Oct 2010 21:38

Kathy, I haven't found anything in there for her. Also checked Parish records on FMP and tried Family Search - nothing, I'm afraid.
