On his war records it says he was convicted of Bygamy in 1918 and was in prison for one month in october 1918 and his ranks reduced.

He was home between 24/2/1917 - 26/3/1919 so he get married in between and who to.Unless he married abroad.

Wonder what happened to that wife then.

From 1911 being a milk factory manager to becoming a Tailor in 1914.

I have his marriage Certificate but not Birth Certificate. I have bought and am waiting for his father Hugh's Birth Certificate.
I don't know were he ended his days so I have not traced a Death Certificate. I believe that just after 1st World War there were a lot of bigamous marriages, so I'm thinking he left the army in 1919 and maybe started another family but where I do not know. I know he served in the Grenadier Guards as a boy soldier and signed on as a groom then went to the Boar War. He came back and resumed the trade both he and his father had, namely Dairyman & Journeyman. He then was called up by the Guards at outbreak of World War One and he rose to CSM rank, and in Nov 1915 the Secretary of State gave him a written order (I have a copy) to join the Manchester Regiment. his CSM became Warrant Officer 2nd Class and he served to the end of war. (The Manchester Regiment has a forum which has helped me immensely, but after discharge they have no more records.
