Only just noticed the Sarah ALLIOTT in 1841 Census, now wondering if she is actually an ELLIOTT.

From the IGI I have 3 brothers for Elizabeth and wonder if she belongs to one of them.

William born c1811 Muston, Leicestershire
Thomas born c1816 Muston, Leicestershire.
James born c1816 Muston, Leicestershire.

The only one I've been able to find in any Census is William.

Fantastic work people. Thanks for confirming the marriage of Ann Elliott to Thomas Thornton.

I would say so too, especially since they died in the same place.

So I would say the death for James 2 years later is also your James........ James possibly gave all the info for Johns death and then when James died no one knew the info to give for him?

Possible I suppose, particularly with John.

I don't live far from Car Colston and have had a look round the churchyard, the only graves I've found are for Benjamin, Elizabeth and their daughter Jane.

In my tree I have 3 brothers who just seem to disappear into the ether? Can anyone solve the mystery?

William Mellors born c1835 Car Colston, Nottinghamshire. No sign of him post 1851 when he's working as a servant in Screveton for Thomas Marsh.

James Mellors born c1842 Car Colston,Nottinghamshire disappears post 1861 when he's living at home, working as a Gardener & Domestic Servant.

John Mellors born c1848 Car Colston, Nottinghamshire does his vanishing act post 1881 when he's still living with his mother and working as a Grocer and ?Local/Lay Parish Methodistt Preacher.

Their mother Elizabeth dies on 12th August 1884 in Car Colston and is buried there with her husban, Benjamin
