Lesley, can you tell us what you're talking about?

I still just don't know what this is about, and why these addresses matter.

I also don't know whether you've understood what has been put in this thread or what was sent to you privately.

I believe I sent you contact information for the person who seems to be a granddaughter of Katherine May.

But we have suggested that you get this marriage certificate

Name: Katherine M Dewar
Spouse Surname: Whitehouse
Date of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec 1939
Registration district: Lambeth
Registration county (inferred): Surrey
Volume Number: 1d
Page Number: 586
Find Spouse: Alfred J Whitehouse

to check that it is the same Katherine, first.

I just can't tell from anything you're saying whether you are going to do that.

The address on Katherine Beatrice's birth certificate, for Katherine May, was 24 Auchland.

... Oh, okay, I see -- you have been in touch with the son of the daughter of the Whitehouse/Dewar marriage.

He has given you an address of 3 Earnest Place (Ernest Place?).

But what is that address? The address when she married? When she was born? What difference does that make? The address you have, Auchland, is where she was living when Katherine Beatrice was born. That is not likely the same as the address where Katherine May was born, or was living when she married even.

Has he told you enough about his Katherine that you can tell whether it's your Katherine? What really matters is the birthday. I can't see how they could be different people, myself.

This is best left between you and him, really, I think, as it's a little personal for the boards.
