History
The Imperial Tobacco Company was created in 1901 through the amalgamation of thirteen British tobacco and cigarette companies comprising W.D. & H.O. Wills of Bristol (the leading manufacturer of tobacco-based products at that time), John Player & Sons of Nottingham and 11 other independent family businesses, which were being threatened by competition from the United States in the form of James Buchanan Duke and his American Tobacco Company.[5]

Do you think it is possible that the first Jacob you mention is the grandfather?? I had Jacobs father Jacob bing born about 1716, so marrying in 1710 would fit unless they had children quite late?

I have recently discovered a branch of my tree that originates from Bristol and they were all Quakers. I am looking to find out any more information that may be available abot them. A few of the main names and dates are as follows:
Elias Player (born about 1717) married Mary Hort (born about 1717)
Their childr was Mary Player (1734) who married Jacob Player (1736). Jacobs father was also called Jacob (born about 1716). Mary and Jacob had 6 children, 2 mary's, 2 williams, a john and a elizabeth.
