Find Ancestors

Hi can anyone help me to find my Great Great Granfather. His name was Reginald Kempster. He had a son named Bertram kempster who married 17th October 1904, by which time, reginald had died. All I know about him is that he was married to a woman named Sarah from Portsea and his son was born in Portsea and married in portsmouth. On my Great Grandfathers marriage cerificate his occupation was listed as Chief Convict Loader/Boarder. There is no reference to him in any Census.

In 1911 he says he was born in Portland Devon but Portland is in Dorset.

Hi Rose, Sorry for the delay in replying, but I have been laid-up for a few days and not been near the computer. I want to thank you for the research that you have done and tell you that I really appreciate it. All the dates you supplied about him and his wife Sarah add up and because Bertram's father died while Bertram was still a very young child, maybe that is where the confusion over the name of ghis father arose. I have Bertrams Wedding Certificate and it clearly states the name Reginald. Again, after looking at the certificate his occupation does read Chief Convict Warder. Thank you once again, I have been looking for this elusive man for over two years.
