Hi Mary,
Yes John James Supple was Louisa's grdson. We were looking to find what happened to his father John Supple Sutton. He is recorded as "dec" on John James's marriage cert in 1873. So looks like "job done"
Thanks for your help.

What were the names of John James Supple born 1853 grandparents who he was with 1871.

The only one I can find is John Supple 1861 /1871 census he is with Stephen Williams 1831 and louisa williams 1821 they seem a bit young to be grandparents.

The IGI records are either extracted or submitted......the info is on the record.

Extracted means taken from Parish records....submitted means provided by an LDS member, and not necessarily accurate

Hi All,
Can anyone help me with this "brick wall" please ?
JOHN SUPPLE SUTTON b. 1820 ish. place not known.
MARRIED............ MARY ANN PHILLIPS 10th Novemer 1845 Alverstoke Hampshire. Gave his occupation as Mariner. Gave his fathers name as Richard Sutton, shoemaker. They have about 4 children between 1848 and 1859. In 1857 he signs as a witness when his mother in law gets married at Alverstoke. By 1861 a son, John James Supple is living with his grandmother, Louisa Williams, in Portsea. There is no sign of Mary or John Supple Sutton. Would like to know more about Richard Sutton too as I can't find him anywhere ! They tended to adopt the name Supple rather than Sutton.
Regards,
Pam
