As mentioned before the only way you are going to find out who her parents were is to purchase a birth cert

There was the one in Edmonton which could well be her although middle name is sarah, but then maybe adoptive parents did'nt know or prefered the name May??

Just thought I would add my grandmothers middle name was Mary on her birth cert when she got Married she used Gertrude Ellen as her middle names because that was what she was told.

Some years later she needed her birth cert (maybe for a passport) and applied to somerset house and thats when she found out her proper name

Florence is definatley the daughter of charles...she is my great great grandmother, it is Elzie/Elsie who remains the mystery.. Thankyou for your work,

many thanks for all this information - I searched the census for John Pratt and noticed there was another child living with them. Have spoken to grandmother who knows nothing of her. I was just intrigued to see if anyone could find who her parents were. I guess it makes it difficult if people change their names. I have no other information about her.

Knowing a bit about this part of London as my ancestors are Islington Highbury area Edmonton is Tottenham but the "sarah blows it out"

Now is Elsie an ancestor or do you just want to know who she is?

I can only suggest purchasing the birth certs unless you can tell us anything more about her

No I can't see anything else for Elsie --I wonder if her forenames were changed from when she was born !! ( the Elsie Sarah is the nearest I can get too, Jax )

I also wondered if she could have been born in the Pancras district "Tottenham Court" but still can't see a birth.

I saw the other baptism Barbara and could'nt find him so I searched the address and luckerly they had not moved

But the birth of Elsie is proving to be more difficult to find at the moment

The birth I gave you above is in Suffolk so it seems unlikely that it is the one...unless they did'nt know where she was born?

She was 4 years old in 1901 census living in the John and Maria Pratt household with Florence Pratt. Born in Tottenham. It is thought she is adopted - am Wandering if anyone can find any information about the little girl. I dont have any other information.
