Hi Hazel,

If you ' google ' cavan genealogy ' a number of sites pop up.

They are mainly 'pay to look' sites .

Most would be pre 1864 and taken from church records.

All the best, GinaS

Hi Eringobragh , Mary married James Grant leather merchant in Edinburgh on 21st sept.1881. I have copy of the cert. and has parents Rosie Mcphilips nee Mckenna and Thomas McPhilips as deceased. Also have Mary on 1881 census staying at Chapel House, Edinburgh as domestic servant, it says on this she was born in Ireland, est. year of birth 1860. I have been trying to find Mc Philips but havent found Thomas on any pages yet. Thank you for your help Hazel.

Hazel....Where did Mary marry and to whom...
How do you know both parents were deceased at the time of her marriage..?
The McPhilips surname was predominent in the Counties Caven/Monaghan/Fermanagh and to some degree in Louth.

Im looking for marriage or any other details on my g.g.grandparents, they were born around 1830s in Ireland. They may have married around 1850s
There names were Rosie McKenna and Thomas McPhilips , he was a mason to trade. They had a daughter Mary Born around 1859. They were both dead when she married in 1881.
