I guess none of us is getting anywhere ... I checked out the Sarah-s in 1861 born in Ropley, all still living in the vicinity, but they seem to be accounted for. |

Sorry - no idea where she was in 1841 - she could have been a ladys maid then and the census isnt searchable on location of birth. For information the Mary Barnard mentioned above married a Scivyer and if you want to find a surname with more mistranscriptions then it would be hard to find! |

Just to say that I have not been able to trace what happened to Sarah Barnard from Ropley after 1851. She may have died somewhere in the London area. She doesnt seem to be on the census from 1861 onwards. |

It is annoying that she shows as a visitor on the 1851 census as I have no idea where she was living - assumed to be somewhere in London. I have a feeling that she died before 1861 but have no idea where! |

Now this may not be your Sarah, but as you probably know she's not with her parents in 1841. Remember someone who was 18 in 1841 would have their age rounded down to 15. |
