correct, and as John is listed as a Bleacher I believe that narrows down thn the family in the earlier census even more.

I will review all the findings above and if I cannot be certain I will look to purchase the Birth Cert.

So the 1901 census with the mother a widow is correct as her sister is Margaret on that one.

Apologies, I have been working from this link as the correct Thomas Wardle that marries Eliza Jane Kent.

This provided me with Eliza's Fathers name of John Kent., from family knowledge we know that the witness Margaret Kent is her sister.

I somehow seem to have got the wrong John Kent picking up a family in Uttoxer instead.

Hope that helps explain it.

The original 1891 census entry provided by %7EMel%7E looks correct. but the place of birth for John has changed. all previous census has him as Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Also the 1881 census has a Mary H listed which doesn't look correct?

It's a common name John Kent.

Based on the 1891 census place of Birth it looks like a really positive match. all previous census has John Kent's place of birth as Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, England and not Stockport.
