checked the marriage cert again. My grandmother (May) was living at 88 Sumatra Road at the time of her marriage. |

Well I wouldnt rule it out!! Proffessions change quite a lot through the years. This John Lumber is quite a bit older than the age on your marriage, but he may have taken a few years off as his wife so young, people told a lot of porkies in the days of no ID! lol |

Mike. My mother always said that her father was a lot older than her mother and this appears to be true from photos . I have just looked at their marriage cert again and he was def a widower and a cleaner at the Army and Navy! His father (deceased) had been a boiler maker . The 1881 census shows the father there as being a boiler maker and the son a riveter but I can't make the dates work! |

This may relate to John Lumbers wife on the 1911, age a little out though. Wandsworth includes the district of Tooting their home in 1911. |
