I think Herberts dad is Richard Wain mum Elizabeth Leigh am looking for more children than Herbert ....... richards dad was James waine he married Ellen James and had Richard but Ellen died then he remarried to Jane hulme I hope !!!!! This family is a mystery and we are all researching it ...... hopefully this is the right track but also looking for any other siblings can anyone else help Please!!!

Yes I have been on familysearch.org which gives me herbert waine birth and christening but when married the e gets dropped to just wain so I think we are on the right track .... I did James and Jane down I think he married before to Ellen and had a child called Richard but Ellen died then he remarried to Jane so fingers crossed ...... more research and hopefully we are going down the right route. Thank-you so much.

found on family search a Richard Waine who married in Youlgreaves to a Julet Shemwell 12/9/1821

also a

richard waine married to Ann Syddall 31/1/1824 in Yougreaves

Juliet could have died young and he remarried

James Waine I gave you on the 1861 census was born Youlgreave according to that census.

on the family search site there is a James Waine bap 1/9/1822 Youlgreave Derbyshire and his parents were Richard and Julia

so he could have named his first son Richard after his father

We do not have the name of richard wains wife yet just that he was on a certificate of the marriage between herbert and elizabeth as the father that took place in prestbury in 1905.

Yes it is The correct Lowe family and thecorrect Wain but apparently the lowes had more than 3 girls ??? Richard Wain is the father of herbert but we are having trouble getting any further back ... Thanks for all your help so far.
