Might be better to return to your other thread. Having said that, a couple of things - does the 1911 not have his birthplace? And have you a reason to think he has a military record? I don't know a great deal about army stuff but might have been a bit old to serve 1914. |

WW1 records are on Ancestry but be aware over half of the records were destroyed by fire during the Blitz in WW2. So it is hit or miss as to whether you are able to find or not |
