Yes - It would look as though her daughter Anne took maybe the surname of her grandfather. Welsh surnames can be very confusing! |

Agree with Tempest that this term used to be used for a step daughter. Interesting that the most likely marriage for John and Laura below gives her maiden name as Evans, but hopefully Anne's marriage cert would confirm this |

we looked at this census but Anne Price is 8 years old,a scholar, but listed as daughter in law to John and Laurs Evans. Did daughter in law have a different meaning then to what is does now?? Please help? |
