Hi All,

Am trying to find out more information about my Great Great Grandmother believed to have been born 1845ish, Death Date: 13/04/1922, Lived 16 Clark street, Stapleton Road. Bristol.

As far as I know she had a child called Edith Lucy Jones born 1890ish...

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm assuming that the address you quote is the one at which she died.................................

As Edith Lucy is presumably your direct line, it would be sensible for you to get accurate info about her, to enable you to work back wards using factual info.

Get her marriage cert, to find out if she knew her father.

Hi I am still struggling with this one, I now have Edith Lucy Jones Birth cert and Marriage Cert, which confirm that her parents were William Jones and Mary Jones formerly Clump and that the area Edith was born and Mary lived was Shrawley I am trying to now find either the marriage cert for William Jones and Mary ann Jones (formerly Clump) or Mary ann Jones Birth certificate, from what I understand Mary ann Jones was born and raised in Dudley... any help on this one would be appreciated.

Are you sure the certificate says "formerly Clump"? Could it be Clamp?

There are no birth registrations on FreeBMD for Clump but there are a lot for Clamp.

Only marriage I can find for Mary Clump... maybe she married more than once..

Thanks - I will try and order another birth cert of one of Edith's Siblings I guess and see if I can work out the name from that. The thing is I cant even find a Marriage cert for Jones and Clamp or Jones and Clemp.
