Just a quick note to rule off one of my "mystery" brides.. Confirming that the Jennie Woonton that posted banns with Thomas Jones was Jeanette as suggested by BatMans daughter & kind others.. looks like the '71 marriage didn't proceed but the progeny did, she had a child in '72 then married Thomas Hamiton in '74 & then Walter Allan in 1876 with whom she had another 5 children. Thanks all

Appreciate any help to trace a mystery Bride.
According to the St Mary at Lambeth Register of Marriages.. a Susan Woonton married a John Neate on the 12th April 1809..
problem is, we've no record of a Susan that early in our Tree.. from 1700 on there are none till 1813.
No subsequent records re Susan/John either..
If anyone has spotted a reference to this pair, I'd be most appreciative.


There's always the possibility that Susan was a widowed Woonton by marriage. But then I guess there would have to be a male Woonton to account for her.

You have some moron at Ancestry saying your people in Lambeth had a kid in Kentucky in 1801 ... with a similar but different surname. Join the club!

Mine in Cornwall had a kid in Tennessee (sometimes Kentucky) in 1775. With a surname just about equally dissimilar. According to 48 trees at Ancestry, anyhow.

It's amazing what baloney people in the US will buy and then serve up to one another without a first thought.

Anyhow, this thread left off where your new one started. Please just continue things here and note in the other one that you're leaving off that one and continuing here.

Hi there, London Marriages and Banns, 1754 1921, search says that a Susan Woonton married a John Neate on 12th April 1809 and a second lass, Jennie Woonton, married a Thomas Jones on 2nd April 1871 but.. can't find any other record of these Woonton girls, no parents, children death etc.. Any help to place them would be Great.. Cheers
