Thanks tempest.... but already seen that site and that the records are their..

thing is i am reluctant to pay for full cert as only want to know the following:

date of birth of mother on birth cert
and same on marrige and death

It depends on what year these records are for. You will not be able to see the exact date of birth on a certificate without actually buying the certificate.

the birth i am looking at is in 1995
the marrige i am looking at is in 1991
and the death i am looking at is in 2003

You will have to buy the certificates for those years to get all the details from them unfortunately.

The marriage certificate won't include dates of birth - only ages (which may or may not be correct - it depends on whether people told the truth).

EDIT - I think the age on the marriage certificate may be correct as I think you now have to produce a birth certificate to get married (I'm sure someone else can confirm or refute this).

Cheers Kath,

thats a shame, because i am only looking for one person date of birth to link all 3 if that makes sense...

the mothers maiden name on birth cert is correct but need d.o.b to confirm
the same name matches on marrige registration but need d.o.b to confirm

as for the death part, knowing the 2 above will confirm that itself

The 1991 marriage and 1995 birth full details will have to be known before issue of certificates in each case because they are too recent.unless you are that person or parent or they are needed for legal reasons, they will not,in most cases be issued.

Does this mean that going to the reg office they will not be able to confirm the d.o.b of the mother/spose in question?

KathleenBell

The register office staff are not supposed to give out information from certificates - unless you are going to buy them. However if you give them the date of birth that you think is correct you may find that they will confirm this if you are correct - but it all depends on the staff really. Some are more sympathetic than others.

is mother's date of birth given on birth certificates?????????????????

Heather

Heather Report 27 Feb 2011 01:28

If you are trying to confirm the date of birth of the mother, this will only be shown on her own birth certificate or her death certificate. It won't be shown on the birth certificate of her child, or on her marriage certificate.

Obviously I do not know why you want this information, but I hope no staff member would give these out by fluttering eyelids as it could so easily be someone snooping around trying to dig up 'dirt' for whatever reason.
If you know one of the people, ask them.
If you do not know them, what business is it of yours?

(Sorry, I have just switched on the tv, and up popped Jerry Springer. What misery)
