Flick, just double-checking if you are on the same track as me. I think the only purpose of finding the Bickle family is to see if they know anything about the crash. Anderson is Dom's relative. At least that's how I understand it!

Hi Brummiejan

Re. the crash - is this a separate query entirely as you mention "Anderson"?

No I mentioned my great uncles name as he was the pilot of the 7 man crew, when they were lost.

Cheers

Hi All

I am trying to trace any relatives of William Douglas Bickle, Flight Sergeant with 49 Sqd, he was The wireless operator on my great uncles crew (P/O C.T Anderson)
They were lost in action on a raid to Mannheim 23/24th September 1943, & are now buried in Rheinberg British War Cemetery Germany.

Williams parents were :- Percy Rowe Bickle & Alma Bickle
His Wife :- Violet May Bickle of Notty Ash Liverpool

I have been looking into the RAF service life of my relative (Anderson) and his crew, including trying to locate the crash site of the Lancaster they were lost in EA-D ED702.

Cheers
Dom
