I am trying to find a marriage of Charles and Anne Jones - both born in Ruabon, Denbighshire. |

Have you got them with children in 1841 census? |

Not yet but two of their daughters were Sarah born 1843 and Jessie born 1848. |

Can anyone find the family of Charles and Anne Jones in the 1841 Census? Should be in Ruabon Denbighshire I think. |

Have you found out Anne's maiden name (from Jessey's birth certificate)? |

I've one thought - as Thomas Jones (Jessey's older brother) is my direct ancestor, would his mother's maiden name appear on his birth certificate as well as Jessey's? Or was he born too early for that information to be registered? He would have been born around 1841 in Liverpool. |

Registration began on July 1 1837 |

How many Thomas Jones do you think were born in Liverpool around 1841? |

Just received the birth certificate for Jessey and under that reference the father is Edward Jones and mother Elizabeth. Could you see if there's another Jessey about the same time(1847c) in the Cheshire area please? Also, on checking the 1871 census, Jessey is a girl. |

In 1851 Jessey is definitely recorded as a son, so perhaps the enumerator was not concentrating. |
