	Help! I have traced a marriage in Scotland but am not sure how far I can get back... William Gibson RAE, b 1824 Glasgow married Elizabeth Campbell on 27 2 1853 in Glasgow. They seem to have emigrated to NZ shortly after. I have the Rae's back two generations but need help with Elizabeth Any ideas?? Peter

	Ginny No - I appreciate the info, but although it looks likely to be her I never add someone to the tree without confirmation. Still trying to get my head around why the probate would be granted in London when I know they were in NZ. Again I do thank you - I'm sneaking the odd look whilst at work and I got tied up in a meeting which stopped me doing it earlier! Peter

	Any children born with middle names.First daughter may be called after Elizabeths mother as scottish tradition. Ellen

	Thanks - I have 9 children for them - only 3 with middle names - Gibson and Campbell - I know where they come from. The 3rd son is Henry Bruce Somerville Rae so there may be a clue there,...... First dau is Mary, other dau is Ellen Peter

Member Since: July 2005 Posts: 1 Send Message	Hi Peter My wife's grt grandfather was William Gibson Rae b 18 Oct 1824 Barony Lanark Scotland, d 31 Mar 1892 Auckland New Zealand, b Mangare Presbyterian Cemetery Row 5 No 16, Auckland New Zealand His wife was Elizabeth [nee Campbell] b abt 1829, d 3 Mar 1905 Auckland New Zealand, b same site as her husband [death dates are as on Tombstone, age given as 75yrs] The William Gibson mentioned in an earlier reply was their son b 1860 d 29 Dec1912. Other children John 1853-1923 [wife's grandfather], Hugh 1856, James 1858, Robert 1863, Harold 1865, Mary Ann 1867-1959, Alexander Hay 1869-1957, Ellen 1871-1948. Haven't found a NZ probate for Elizabeth, and have her parents as Hugh Campbell and Mary [no dates yet] Cheers Jim

I have: John 30/5/1853 Hugh Campbell 13/8/1856 Henry Bruce Somerville 1859 William Gibson 16/5/1860 James 1862 Robert 1865 Mary Ann 1867 Alexander Hay 1869 Ellen 1871 Can you give me details of John's marriage and descendents please.?
