Blanche Bracegirdle died 2000

Insanewomble Report 18 Mar 2011 18:15

Can't seem to find birth record for my maternal grandmother Blanche Bracegirdle. She died in 2000. The death cert. info gives her dob as 18th October 1918 but albeit post 1912 there is no birth record for her or in surrounding years.

Theres one c1882 but not sure if this is her as quite an age gap.

She married Wilfred Duggan and after he passed away she married Walter Waterhouse. Her death is under Blanche Waterhouse in 2000.

If you have any info to help trace her mother's maiden name and place or date of birth, that would be great.

Wilfred Duggan is also a needle in a haystack. I know when he died but haven't a clue where he was born or who his parents are either. No joy on the Irish Census site either.

All help, gratefully received.

Do you have her fathers name from the marriage certificate, also an area for her birth?

Nice find Ginny!

You will need her marriage cert to William to find out who his father is, to have a hope of finding out more about him.

Have nothing on her parents. Am trying to trace backwards.

All I know is that she died Blanche Waterhouse in 2000 after marrying Walter Waterhouse. Prior to that she was married to Wilfred Duggan. He died c1956 definitely aged 43.

Don't have either of their parents but know Wilfred and Blanche married in 1938. I found that record.

It is Bracegirdle and married Wilfred not William. Hope that clarifies.

Well one of the marriage certs for Blanche should name her father if known .however it that 1919 birth is her then looks like she was illigitimate

That's the right marriage, I've found Blanche's one to Walter too. It's Blanche and Wilfred parents I need to find though. Do you think she's most likely illegitimate? I've no idea of her parents names.

His birth is harder, too many Wilfred Duggans. Again no parents names.

Area is about right as my mother married in Middleton.

I dont think we can do anything else to help you until you get the marriage certificate for her

This might give you the fathers name and witnesses which might be a clue

And then still, you need to get that birth cert that I posted!

Viewed the original. Noted corrections 1 & 2 at bottom of page.

First correction says instead of Blouchard Blanche F. (still Bracegridle) then second correction said Blanchard F. Bracegirdle spelling surname correct. MMN is correct as Bracegirdle.

Not another father unknown. Story of my life.

Can't moan I got two mums now.

Which would you ladies prefer to be named after a type of skillet? or type of corset? Poor old nan.

Problem. One post per subject rule. We have a thread about Wilfred Duggan and his sister Agnes already.

Somebody has been wasting their time doing the same thing, and I'll read it as me, and not appreciate it.

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/trying_to_find/duggan/thread/1262475

Did you really not notice that the same searching was being done in two places, and think gosh, maybe this is why there's a rule against dupicate posting? So people don't have their time wasted?

Insanewomble

Insanewomble Report 18 Mar 2011 19:52

Sorry. Started out as separate things working backwards from Wilfred for his parents and his sisters descendents forwards and separately looking for Blanche's parents as couldn't find a marriage as suspected illegitimate but hoped not. Got crossed threads where marriage was mentioned. One thread name doesn't mention the other so as to trace back individually.

Apologies again.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 18 Mar 2011 19:55

But that's precisely why the instruction says one post per person/*family* ...

"One thread name doesn't mention the other so as to trace back individually."

The tracing back individually involves the same searching.

Now we know.

I keep thinking ... what if I'd had a new thread for every person/generation in my Hill/Monck family ... instead of having one 8-page thread, I'd have eighteen 8-page threads, and many peed off colleagues. ;)

Insanewomble Report 18 Mar 2011 20:00

Really sorry. Can thread name be changed to merge the two?
