Yes, there is a quicker way, but there is 3 pages of smith/green births in London between 1912 and 1940 was everyone born in Islington?

Hi. Can anyone help with thoughts about tracing additional children that I don't have info for? I am not sure if there is an easy (or "easier"!) way than BMD records when you have such common surnames and no real idea of first names. I have been told that Gladys (nee Green) & Edward married in 1909 had around 20 children. Unfortunately don't have the relatives alive to ask for clarification but we have only so far got commitment on around 9 of them born between 1914 and 1939 (I have gaps between 1915-1918 - assume this is due to the war, then 1923-1926 and also 1932 to 1939 but this last one could be right as she would have been into her 40's by then). We have tracked one who no-one knew from 1915 (Albert W) so assume he died in infancy. We heard there was a Dolly (though not sure whether this is short for Dorothy or similar) and we suspect she was maybe the first born - she is likely to have died young also. There are lots with both names born around 1910 and I cannot see the mothers maiden name for these so unsure which, if any are correct. We also believe there would be a Gladys born very early on in the marriage - again probably deceased very young. I understand we would not necessarily get anywhere by visiting the area (Islington) as alot of the churches no longer exist. I am happy to order some birth certs to clarify if we can get 90% of the way there but don't want to go out on a limb with the search results I am getting at the moment.

Thanks for any assistance. If I can answer any questions, just ask what you need to know - I am quite new at this so not sure what is needed.

Thanks
Keeley
