Hi

I am looking for any info on Andrew Cone born 1881 in Ireland

He married Mary Phillips in 1908 in Wales. They had 11 children altogether.

Here he is in 1911:

Registration District:Llanelly

From what I've been told by family members his mother died (I think) and his father remarried, and he ran away when he was a young boy.

Can anyone help me find out anything more about him?

Thank you

Thanks for the 1901 census, could be him!

My family thinks that Cone was previously Coen or Coyne. The fact he ran away when he was a young boy would suggest that he may not have known the correct spelling!

1911 for John Cona off 1901 census.
Labourer Street Bursley,Hayes Appleton Cheshire

John Coan 1861 Galway farm servant now it says single, but looks like the same man to me.

Is this the death for Andrew in 1956 in wales age 78 = 1878.

Re the IGI entry above -dont be put off by the apparently different christian names -at that time the RC church Latinized names at baptism as you will see from Matin who has become Martinus

Do you all think that's him then?? :-)

Mary

Mary Report 7 May 2011 13:13

Looks like him,I wonder if John Cona/Coan 1860/1 could also be found to see if the parents are the same.

Anthony also had a son Martin,so maybe he was named after his grandad.

Yes, I do -but so far have failed to find Martin or Julia in 1901 or 1911 Irish census
There is a Martin COYNE b 1853 Galway in the 1881 England census living in Jarrow with Patrick Coyne b 1835 Galway and his family but that Andrew says he is unmarried, and I presume (though its not certain of course) that Martin and Julia were married before Andrew was born in 1877

Andrew

The marriage cert for Andrew and Mary should show his fathers details

Re the John Cone who is with Andy in 1901 in Mere Cheshire -shown as Fram Lab 40 married, born Galway

There is a baptism in the same parish (Killian and Kilronan) as Andrews baptism which shows
Joannes Coyne born 1/3/1864 baptised 12/3/1864 son of Ricardo Coyne and Brigida Tierny
1881 has a JohnCoyne 23 Shipyard Lab lodging in Jarrow (Same parish as the Martin I found above) lodging with another Patrick Coyne 24 and his wife Catherine
so it looks as if John was a cousin rather than a brother
