The surnames are a match - David and Minnie Constance's names are a match - they are in the right place! - How can you say that these are not the correct people ??

Lindsey HAS to have the correct people on 1911!!

Also - the death reg. matches a birth for her for 1884/5!

We have got our wires crossed, I was saying about the death entries not the 1911 cencus, that is right.

You do not get the spouse's name from a burial on Ancestry!!

Yes I looked at that one too Susan but I don't think Henry could be her husband as she is a widow..... when are where did David Burt die please?

Thanks for the information on David. It looks as if I was 2 years out. As he was registered in the same district and County as the Minnie C Burt I think she must be my grandmother.

The probate record you looked at on Ancestry is for a completely different Minnie Burt to the death posted by both Margee and Lindsey. She died in June 1941 and left money in her will to Henry Cottle.......it doesn't mean she was married to him! Not that that matters.......she is not your Minnie anyway, she lived in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, which is nowhere near Surrey.

They have both given you the details for YOUR Minnie C Burt who's death is registered Sep-Dec 1941 in Surrey.

Just another little correction. The probate records do not say to whom the money was left. The person listed would be the executor of the will.

You are quite right, I didn't phrase my post correctly. There were 2 people named, Henry Cottle being one of them, and the amount of the effects.
