Thanks a lot. I do have acces to all Ancestery's census records, but if you can help...... Mary was born around 1836 Cork county, married John Smith1859 in England. Her mother also Mary is also listed on 1871 born around 1798

Probably right in saying that enumerator had no way of knowing correct spelling.

Hello Brett, give us their names and birth years and we could take a look at some other census records which may have clearer information.

Please can anyone help? I have ancestors Crowley/Crawley from Co Cork in Ireland. In 1871 census they are in Lambeth and birthplace is listed as Kuna/Kurra, Cork, Ireland. Has anyone any idea where this place is in Cork. No such place but could be Curra or even Conna as the enumerator may have had difficulty understanding the Irish pronunciation.
