Find Ancestors

How do you get a Marriage Certificate if the marriage is before 1837 and noton BMD indexs, i have dates of some but dont know how to get them.

There were no certificates as such before 1837.....what you can see though is the Parish record of the event. Sometimes on microficehe or film via a local records office or the LDS, or some areas are available on line..Ancestry has a lot of london and liverpool parishes available for example..

Many people on here have accesss to various parish records ...

Nickydownsouth, john and jane were his parents, all i have is Robert b 19th jan 1777 in Headcorn, and that he died in 1853, i got this info off of
G.R. trees

Elizabeth Fuller was married to another Isaac Tolhurst in my tree he was born 1787 so its not her

Might be an idea to try and contact the tree owner.?......hopefully they may be able to fill in the gaps.?

Seems there is another Robert Tolhurst born not far away form Headcorn in the same year.. This is probably the one i have posted the census entries for and the marriage to Elizabeth Cook.....wonder if the person with the GR tree has mistaken them for your Robert also born 1877 but in Headcorn not Biddenden???
