A few days ago you kindly helped me trace back my Wood family. I'm following this up but I can't seem to find any of them in the 1851 census using this sites search engine. They are George Wood b c 1816 Wanstead, Essex, wife Emma b c1813 High Ongar Essex, children William b c 1844, George b c 1848, Charles b c 1849, Richard b c 1851 all born Ongar, Essex. I've tried Woods as well.
Am I doing something wrong or are they missing? Can anyone help please?

You would have been best to add this to the other thread where presume the family has been found on later census.

Gives us something to refer too then

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - yes its them in 1861 and pretty likely in 1841. I'm almost glad no one can find them in 1851 because I thought I was missing something obvious!

I've just tried searching Hood instead of Wood on the off chance but nothing!! I bet someone out there can think of something to find this record - you're all so clever! :-)
