Find Ancestors

Would anyone be unhappy if I posted another look up offer for USA ?

I have Canada thread, but wanted to do another but this time for US as I like to keep 2 separate threads in order not to get confused (my tiny brain wouldn't cope ;)):D

Once I have the answers, I'll delete this thread as it's nothing to do with this section. Just wanted to get the feelers out and see..

It would not bother me as I do not have access to US records

If it is just anc*stry world wide you are using it could upset others who also subscribe to it

Although I had a general look up thread a year ago it got whoooshed for some reason and now glad it has gone.

As you know there are loads of people on the boards willing to help with all sorts but when requests going to individuls it is annoying when you know you can help but cannot jump in

There we are saying there is little going on as it is for there to be loads of people offering to do certain look ups that can be found by many members

I can't see you doing that is any different to all the other helpful members on here that do lookups.

Well I seem to be in the minority and will save my money and not upgrade because world wide would be of no use to me and would only use that part for helping others

Shall I start one for FMP look ups because not everyone has that?

There a dozons of people who will do look ups and pay for subscriptions to do it.

If the boards are full of individuls offering these services, what do the others who are willing to help do?

I am on this board about 16 hours a day I would soon get bored

The boards are so slow at the moment I don,t think it makes any difference,
I wouldn't upgrade just to do look-ups but while I have the full A* anyone is welcome to ask :D

The only Look up threads on this board should be specialised as in things that can not be found by other people who pay to use ancestry or FMP.

Thats how I see it anyway

Maybe I am wrong and have been wasteing my money paying for these sites to help others

I actually agree with Jax on this.

Specialist research in areas other than those offered by Ancestry, FMP, and GR should be the only threads run by individuals.

With any query the more heads involved in the research the better as has been proven on these boards countless times.

The drawback of posting a thread offering lookups is that people post a request on them.........then proceed to post their own thread asking for exactly the same info, which does cause a deal of annoyance.
