Find Ancestors

Can anyone find info as to the emigration of William Bartley from Cornwall to Adelaide between 1861 and 1871. Did he take his family and his siblings with him.? Plenty of detail would be helpful.

His approximate year of birth could be a useful fact.

He wasn't married at the time? Do you have a marriage and/or death record for him in Australia, and were his parents named on either?

And anything else you might know that no one else does.

Sorry I should have put in more detail! His parents were William b 1812 and Susan b 1817. He was about 16 in 1861 and not married.. As I am in England I am unable to access Australian records to any large degree.

I hate to be pushy, but that's not quite enough. I'm not likely going to be much help with Australian records (although, have you done any searching on line? there are lots there), but anybody who would still needs more info.

I assume he is gone from the records in England by 1871.

Have you looked for his parents and siblings in later censuses, or for marriages and deaths for them?

How do you know he went to Australia?

Is he the person you (or maybe your partner) are descended from?

I'm confused because you don't seem to know what became of him *or* any of his family, but if you descend from one of them you must know the answer to something about somebody! ;)

Oh, also -- try putting his date of birth and "Australia" in the title. Then people who *do* know these things will see the post.
