Is there anywhere I can look up Scottish BMD's? I have Ancestry but can't find anything on there?

Thanks,

B.

Scotlandspeople is the official site.Pay per view. Why are you not getting anything on Ancestry re -Census.What info do you have.

As Ellen says, you can get the census's (in a fashion) on there and, depending on the dates, you might get some christenings, marriages etc. on Family search site also !!

Family search which is free will give you some details up to the late 1880s, just enter Scotland in the search box.

https://www.familysearch.org/

Scotlands People is a pay as you view site but has all the certificates available.

Just sign on with Scotlands People @ www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Enter the details and you will be told the number of available matches for the whole of Scotland.
These can be further reduced by entering towns and even areas and all without paying anything.

I x Credit will allow you to view one page of results up to 24 per page and with a little adjustment of areas, years even names, you should be able to spot some likely candidates.

5 x Credits will allow download of certificate which means a total cost of 6 credits about £1.40.

Birth records less than 100 years old, marriage records less than 75 years old and death records less than 50 years old are deemed to be modern day records and for these records it is necessary to order an extract.
All older certifcates are available to view online which makes life a lot easier.
