Hi Ken2, Manchester Archives and Local Studies who are based at City Library (The Manchester Room) on Deansgate have the birth, marriage and burial records on microfilm for St James, George Street. for the years 1788 to 1854. The reference is MFPR163. Ring the library first to book time on a microfilm reader. All the info you need should be on there. They will do photocopies of the original record once you have found it. |

Ginny - Don't know what happened to Elizabeth Crompton [nee Hammond]. I assumed she was around for the baptisms in Bolton on 25 Dec 1841 [see list of children in previous post] |

the burials are also at the Lancs Records Office along with some MI's but don't know what years for MI's. If I go next week I will have a look if no-one else has found the info |

Roger's wife was Elizabeth and they married at Warburton, Cheshire 19 June 1825. |

I find quite often I can't find a trace of someone on a census on GR so I look on Ancestry on their homepage where you can enter some details. |

According to the FamilySearch my ancestor Roger Dewhurst Crompton was buried at St James's Church, George Street, Manchester, aged 48 on 18 May 1847. |
