Also states she is a widow....so they probably just went their seperate ways

I'm not sure that William and Frances were actually married I cannot find a marriage for them.
William was married to Lucy Hopewell and they had 2 children Mary Ann Garton born and died 1831 and William Henry Garton born 1833.
William is not on the 1841 and 1851 census with Lucy and cannot find what happened to Lucy. She was only abt 18yrs of age when they married in 1830 and on my disc of Nottingham marriages she is named as Mary.
On my disc of Burials William wasm buried at St Mary's Nottingham aged 61yrs of the Union Workhouse.

No Lucy was with her mother on the 1841 census with her son Henry, her daughter Mary Ann died aged 5 days. I only found that she married a William from my christenings CD that I have. Her son Henry went on to marry Isabella Soar 1854 found all their children on my disc and found them on 1881 census as thats the only census I have access to until I go to the archives.
I wonder where William was on 1841 census. Cannot find anything on Lucy after 1851.

Well on my marriage disc I found William Garton to Mary Hopewell on 7 June 1830 at St Stephen's Church Sneinton Nottingham I think this should be Lucy but until I go to the archives to check it all seems to much of a coincidence to me.

Have you been able to find William on the 1841 census at all.

Only william in Nottinghamshire in 1841 that I can see ages are wrong but thats not unusual for the 1841 census as they were rounded down

They are the same ones that was found on the 1851 census it seems he left Lucy and went to live with Frances as man and wife without marry, well thats my idea. I think we have done all we can on this now until I can get to the archives.
