Find Ancestors

I am looking for the marriage of William Tracy (sometimes Tracey) to Emily (sometimes Emma). They are on all censuses together from 1881 to 1901, and are both in Croydon, but not together in 1911. The 1911 census shows that they have been married for 38 years, and their first child was born in 1874, so I should be able to find a marriage around 1873, but I can't. William was born in 1851 in Bermondsey, and Emily is usually shown as being born in Croydon around 1855.

Can anyone help? I would love to know Emily (Emma's?) maiden name.

William's middle name was Charles, so I don't think the James is correct.

I've seen the marriage in Rugby, but I can't think why they would meet or marry up there. William was a labourer/dealer and always seemed to be in South London and then Croydon.

Yes he is William Charles, and yes, they are William Lewis and Rosa.

Yes I think that is his banns, but as far as I can find out they never married. Lydia married someone else a couple of years later in fact. That bit doesn't really make sense to me, but I suppose something happened to change their minds!
