Looking for death year of John C Grant born Fareham 1932. I believe he died as a child, either in Hampshire or Sussex. Can anyone help please. |

Thank you for your replies. The childs surname was Grant as the mother married brothers. Will keep on searching, thanks again. |

Just to point out that even if she married brothers, her maiden surname was not Grant, surely? |

Her maiden name was Venn before she married the first brother, then she was a Grant when marrying the second brother. This child was born second marriage and on birth record states mothers name as Grant, so surely this would be Grant on the death cert |

There are 6 Grant-Venn births, 1926-1943, and only 1 marriage to account for 1 of them, the last. |

Paula, you have the birth certificate? It is supposed to record the mother's "maiden" surname, not her first married surname. A mother might have reported the wrong surname in error, it certainly happened, but it would be unusual. |

There may not be a Minnie L Grant marriage to a Grant JC as she was Minnie G,so how about this one then?Same place, right time? Not long after first hubbies death and the year of mourning over.....just? |

And I'd copied and pasted that very Minnie G's first marriage (in Lambeth) here, hadn't I? |

Thanks for everyones responses. Family still say that the childs name was Johnny, but guess that could of been what they called him. It seems the birth is most probably Charles B Grant as I have him in the right place to the right parents. |
