I am looking for William Cooper and family in the census records.

William Cooper was born in Oldham Lancashire in 1820

He married Mary Waller according to another GR members tree.

I cannot find a marriage on Lancs BMD.

I have them having 5 children Sarah, John, James, Ann and Jane.

I was wondering if any other children are recorded on later census's.

Thanks in advance.

Do you know the birth years of any of the children? I can find a few William Coopers born in Oldham but none with a wife called Mary.

Has the other member provided any documentary evidence of the name of the wife?

If not.......suggest you ignore it, and do your own research

Where was the wife born?

If it wasn't in Lancs. the marriage probably wasn't in Lancs

Thanks everyone.

Thats them.

Thanks for confirming the marriage.

Just to confirm are all the children on the 1871 census William and Mary's?

I had the 5 children on my tree, but I didn't have the others.

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 30 May 2011 11:08

Yes, all children have either "son" or "daughter" under relationship to head.

Must have been very healthy living in that part of Cheshire at the time.

All farmers of course.

Ann Cooper married a another Cooper Thomas.

They are my paternal grandmothers family.
