Hello Jean, what was the address for him on the marriage certificate, and who were the witnesses - there may be some clues in there.

i have my grandfathers death and marriage certs and i am trying to get further back om my tree but have got a bit stuck here,he
was married in 1917 in carlisle to margaret gallagher ,his name is john edward pearson and he was age 22 and father thomas gas stoker.
on his death cert in 1945 he was 53 and gives his wife as informant of his death,how do i find out who his mother was as i cant find his birth,there are alot of pearsons in carlisleand i want to besure i have the right one,any help or advice on this one would be appreciated.
