Three of the children that show on the Scotland census records were baptised Margaret Ann McCredie, Elizabeth Murray McCredie and Helen McCredie. Their father is listed as William McCredie and their mother is named as Helen Vint |

I would be very grateful for any info about Helen/Ellen Baird born around 1820 and William Mccredie, blacksmith in Whithorn, born about 1810. Ellen had children by William called Mccredie but I don't think they were married. Who is Ellen, Who is William. |
