Hello.

Can some kind person do a 1911 Census lookup for me please.

Charles George Cooper b. 1892 Islington
Beatrice Lavinia Ives b.1892 Tottenham

They were married on 6th May 1911 in Islington, and have given the address for both of them as 1 George Street, Holloway, Islington.

Can someone please confirm they were living at this address in March 1911, and who else was living in the same household.

Thank you.

They probably gave the same address to avoid having to pay for two sets of Banns

What were the names of their fathers?

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 30 May 2011 21:19

Would they have paid for Banns if they got married in the Registry Office?

I thought that was only for Church weddings.

George Cooper.

When Mary Ives daughter of James Francis Ives married
she gave her home address as 38 George Road.
Mard at St.James Church, Holloway.
Perhaps the address was Road and not street as you mentioned.

Hello Irene,

I lived in Islington as a child. Yes indeed there is a George Road, in Holloway. However, the marriage lines definitely state George Street. Mind you there are several discrepancies on the certificate. lol

Can perhaps someone look up 1 Georges Road for me then please.

Can you confirm please Irene, that Mary Ives married a James Burton.

Thanks.

38 Georges Road Lower Holloway in 1911 is the Bushby family, fmp have it mistranscribed as Grove Street, but it's Georges Road on the original

Thanks Irene, that ties in nicely with my records, and also gives me a second name for James Burton, so I can now trace his family back.

Tempest, the Bushby family means nothing to me, so maybe she was just staying there before getting married.

Charles and Beatrice still seems to be a bit of mystery.

Thank you for your help so far kind people.

Irene, we posted at the same time.

Well the surnames on the Summary books mean nothing to me. There is no one in the family with those names.

Oh well back to the drawing board. But thank you just the same.

I have to log off now, so if anyone else posts information, please do not be offended if I do not acknowledge until the morning.

Good night all.

Good Morning Everyone.

Thank you for all your helpful postings.

I think that maybe the Stoker in the Navy could well be the answer as to why Charles went missing, if he was in the services. Thank you Tempest.

I have sent PM's to Irene and Kathryn, thank you two for your help.

I appreciate the postings everyone has given me on this thread, and for taking the time to try and help me.

Cheers.
