Many thanks for your help,
My mistake it was the {1851} census that I found Joseph Stanton on but after that nothing!!
He really is a hard chap to find but again thank you for your kind help,

Good morning all,
Sorry to be a bother but I am trying to find any records of a Joseph Stanton born {1814} from Gretton Northamptonshire, the only record I can find is in {1841} with his son Samuel Stanton born {1837} Northamptonshire {although on the {1881} census it states Samuel Stanton was from Manchester!!!} I have followed Samuel Stanton in the census BUT it is Joseph Stanton that remains aloof.
Any advise or help would be wonderful.
