I have also found those deaths listed but as you say they don't fit in with the age range. I've wondered if perhaps they split up but as a little girl my mother was told that he had died and I know my nan wouldn't have told her that unless it was true. It's such a mystery and every where I turn there's a dead end!

Thank you all for your help so far :-)

There is of course always the possibility that your mother was told that her father had died but he had not in fact done so...So he could have died much later than early 1950s
This happened to a friend of mine now aged 67 when she was 3/4 years old.
Her parents had actually divorced and father remarried ,had two sons and went to South Africa in 1957 and died there in 1985.....

Is it likely that your grandmother would have registered his death?

Or were they not together when he died?

I'm guessing they weren't, or your mother would have remembered when and where it happened............

I think he could have been at least 10 -12 years older than her but as I don't know when he was born it is hard to say. My grandmother would have been about 34 if he died in 1951 when my mum thinks he did. I know it's very little to go on but I'm desperate to find someone who may have known him. He also had another daughter called Shirley by somebody else.

Hi,

No her never married my grandmother although she did change her name. My mother was born in Uxbridge in May 1941 and was still a young girl when he died so doesn't remember much about him.

Did he marry your grandmother?

If so...........what was her name?

One of your parents was his child............do you know the year/place of that person's birth?

Help - I'm trying to find any info on William Chandler - he is my grandfather. I know he lived in Ruislip, Middlesex in the 1940's before moving to Brighton about 1947/8. I think he died early 50's. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
